Saudações! A Paz de Jesus Cristo esteja com você! Boas festas de Nossa Senhora, nossa Mãe Maria, sob os títulos de Nossa Senhora de Verdun e São Daniel!

The Peace of Jesus Christ be with you! Happy feasts of Our Lady, our Mother Mary, under the titles of Our Lady of Verdun, and Saint Daniel!

There is nothing more Important than to ensure that, when we Die, we go to Heaven.

"What doth it profit a man to gain the whole world and to lose his soul?"

No one can be saved, and go to heaven, unless he confess that Jesus Christ is God, that Jesus Alone is God, in the Trinity, and that the Church He established and guaranteed, the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic (Roman) Church, under the lawful successor of St Peter, is the only true Church, that Heretics and Apostates cannot become lawful Popes, that there was a Vacancy in the Papacy from the death of Pope Pius XII, October 28, 1958, and until the election of Pope Michael, July 16, 1990. (See Unam Sanctam and the Council of Florence's Decree for the Jacobites Cantate Domino).

Heaven and Hell are permanent. You can't be lost from Heaven. You can't be saved (recovered) from Hell.

Return to the Catholic Church under His Holiness Pope Michael I.

  1. July 21: Our Lady of Verdun, Lorraine.
«The Cathedral of Notre Dame of Verdun has a long and ancient history. It was in about the year 330 when St Sanctinus, a disciple of St Denis, converted the city of Verdun to the True Faith, and later made it an Episcopal city, becoming its first bishop. He built a church there in honor of Saints Peter and Paul. In the year 457 St Pulchrone, 5th bishop of Verdun, whose name is often mistakenly spelled Polichraine, built the first church located at the site where Our Lady of Verdun is presently located, inside the walls of the city on top of ancient Roman ruins. This church was actually named to honor Mary as Mother of God, a title that had recently been confirmed at the councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon. It was at the council of Ephesus in 431 that Mary was formally affirmed to be Theotokos, "God-bearer," or "the one who gives birth to God." At Chalcedon, the nature of Christ was formally defined, teaching that He was God and man, "one and the same Christ, Son, Lord, Only-begotten, known in two natures, without confusion, without change, without division, without separation." With this definition Mary was shown to be the Mother of God, and not just of Our Lord in his human nature. The church and Our Lady of Verdun was celebrated for numerous miracles. In the year 990, Bishop Heimon built a new cathedral to Our Lady of Verdun, and in the 12th century a choir and two portals were added. In 997, the Emperor Otto III conferred on this Bishop Heimon, or Haymon, the title of count, making him and his successors Episcopal Counts. The cathedral was consecrated by Pope Eugene III in 1147. In the 14th century the flat wooden ceiling was replaced with a vaulted one, and side-chapels were added to the nave. Another side chapel dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in the 16th century. In 1755 the roof and towers were hit by lightning, which set them both on fire, which did significant damage to the church. The church was repaired and rebuilt in the Neo-Classical style in 1760. The cathedral was once again severely damaged in World War I, as it was hit by artillery rounds in the Battle of Verdun which destroyed the towers. The crypt was rediscovered during the renovation that went on until the year 1936, and a re-inauguration took place in 1935. The Arbennes family were the counts of Verdun, and Godfrey of Bouillon was a member of that family. Godfrey gave up his right to the countship before leaving on the First Crusade.»

  2. Feast of Our Lady of Mercy also called Nuestra Señora de la Merced, Our Lady of Ransom and Our Lady of the Liberation of Captives.
I do not know why this feast is being cited today. I have found at least 2 sources citing it for today.

«This feast commemorates the foundation of the Mercedarian Order and the apparition of Our Lady of Ransom to St Peter Nolasco. In this appearance she carried two bags of coins for use in ransoming Christians imprisoned by the Muslim Infidels. On August 10, 1218, the Mercedarian Order was legally constituted at Barcelona by King James of Aragon and Catalonia, and was approved by Pope Gregory IX on January 17, 1235. The Mercedarians celebrated their institution on the Sunday nearest to 1 August because it was on August 1, 1218 that the Blessed Virgin showed St Peter Nolasco the white habit of the Order. This custom was approved by the Congregation of Rites on April 4, 1615. On February 22, 1696 it was extended to the entire Latin Church, and the date changed to 24 September.»

July 21: Our Lady of Mercy
«One thing moved St Catherine McAulay to action — the pity of God. Her heart was touched by the misery of the Dublin poor. Poverty of body was equaled, among many of them, by poverty of soul. The youth, brought up in the slums, were especially susceptible to the loss of the faith that had defied centuries of persecution. There was, her practical soul pondered, only one remedy. If there might be a group of women who would dedicate themselves to the works of mercy among these people, some of the corporal and spiritual misery would be lifted. To feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to harbor the harborless — this she planned first; then, when the needs of the body were cared for; to instruct the ignorant, to counsel the doubtful, to pray for the living and the dead. For a patroness of this venture, as old as Christ is old, she had not far to look. Our Lady had been a Mother to her all her life, especially since her parent's death. The title, Mother of Mercy, had been dear to her when she learned of the ancient Order of Mercy that had ransomed Christians who had been taken captive by the Muslim Infidels, giving not only money for their return to Europe and their families, but often substituting for them, going into harsh captivity in the place of others — and all this in the name of Mary, Queen of Mercy, the Pitiful One. "Sisters of Mercy" she would call her workers, patterning her life and theirs on Our Lady. With her and in her spirit, they would perform the works of mercy wherever the Holy Ghost led them.»

  7. + The Holy Martyrs of Marseilles in Roman Gaul now France St Victorius was a Christian officer in the Roman army stationed in Marseille (Massilia) in present-day southern France during the persecutions initiated by Emperors Diocletianus and Maximianus Hercules. When Maximian came to Marseilles, Victor hurried from house to house at night, urging Christians to be steadfast if they had to die for the faith. He was caught and brought to the prefects Asterius and Eutychius, who handed him over to Maximian. He was steadfast despite Maximian's threats and outbursts of rage, and then he was bound and dragged through the streets. After returning, bruised and bloody, he continued to resist the call to worship the false gods. Then he was skinned and tortured. During this brutal treatment, he received a vision of Christ. He was then thrown into the dungeon. At midnight he was visited by angels, and their lights filled the prison. Three frightened guards, Saints Alexander, Felicianus and Longinus, asked him to forgive them, and he called priests who baptized them. The guards' conversion angered Maximian, and he had all four brought to the marketplace. The three soldiers held fast to their newfound faith, and were beheaded. Victor was beaten, whipped and brought back to prison. Three days later he was again presented to the emperor and asked to offer incense to the god Jupiter. Instead, he kicked to the statue so it fell over. The emperor then ordered that his foot be cut off, and that he then be crushed under a millstone. When part of his body was broken, the machine broke down. Viktor was still alive, but in the end he was beheaded. The four bodies were thrown into the sea, but were rescued by Christians and buried in a hollowed-out rock in what would later become the city's cemetery. The same day of Victor's martyrdom, Saints Corona and Eleuterius or Deutherius were apprehended praying at his tomb, and were executed. In the 4th century, St John Cassian built two monasteries in Marseilles, one over the tomb of Viktor and his companions. It later became the famous Benedictine monastery of St Victor. Also in Paris, a monastery called St Victor arose, where the amputated foot of the saint was honored as a precious relic, and the translation festival was celebrated every year on July 23.

  9. + The Holy Martyrs of Troyes in Roman Gaul Saints Claudius of Troyes Roman officer in the army of Aurelius. Received St Julia of Troyes as a slave and a spoil of war. She pleaded with him not to rape her, offered to serve him otherwise, and promised to pray for him daily; he was moved to spare her, eventually treating her more as a daughter, and was finally converted by her. When Julia was martyred in the persecutions of Aurelian, Claudius made a public profession of his own faith. Martyr. St Julia of Troyes was an eighteen-year-old Christian virgin who was so unfortunate as to be captured during one of these attacks. She was bought as a slave by Claudius, who was very excited about her beauty and wanted to make her one of his wives, if only she would give up her Christian faith. But Julia asked him on her knees not to take from her the only consolation in the quarrel, namely the faith in the true God, but otherwise she would serve him with great fidelity and pray daily to God for his happiness and progress. Touched by the meek prayer, he then treated her with awe like a daughter. He arranged a separate room for her where she could carry out her devotional exercises unhindered, and eventually he left the management of her house to her. He valued her even higher when, through her intercession, he more often won the battles against his enemies. For 28 years she lived in this house, pure and spotless in prayer, strict fasting and the practice of charity. Then, in a dream, she received a heavenly exhortation to return to her hometown and there bear a witness of her faith. When she told Claudius about this message, he decided to leave his family and treasures and accompany her to Troyes. There Julia was soon accused as a Christian to Emperor Aurelian, who was then staying in the city. In the persecution the emperor set in motion after his victory over Tetricus in 273, she was led before prefect Elidius. When she emphatically refused to sacrifice to the idols, she was subjected to torture and then beheaded. It happened in Troyes on July 21 around 275. As soon as Julia's head was separated from her body, Claudius declared himself a Christian, and he was immediately beheaded. Twenty other Christians who were imprisoned with them died along with them. They were buried together, and are celebrated on the same date, July 21.
