Janeir-Teen-acem festam; liturgical feasts of January 3: 

Octave of St. John the Apostle & Evangelist (RM); 

St. Henoch, Antedeluvian patriarch & prophet, he walked with God, or was taken away, by God, after 365 years on earth, as was the Prophet Elias; 

The Holy Martyrs of Cilicia, Saints Zozimus, & Athanasius, a notary (RM); 

The Holy Martyrs of the Hellespont, Saints Cyrinus, Primus, & Theogenes (RM); 

The Holy Martyrs of Nicomedia in Bithynia Saints Theopemptus & Synesius or Theonas, who suffered a glorious martyrdom in the persecution of Diocletian (RM); Theopemptus or Theopompus was bishop of Nicomedia, the capital of Bithynia & also headquarters of the  Eastern Roman Empire, &, for his office, during the persecution unleashed by Diocletianus, he was arrested in 304 A.D., brought to court, & subjected to many tortures but always remained unharmed, performing many miracles. The judge then summoned the famous magician Theonas, to demonstrate that these miracles could also be performed by non-Christians, but in the challenge, Theonas was defeated, &, owning himself defeated, he adhered to Christianity, whereupon St. Theopemptus immediately baptized him, giving him the name of Synesius. They were both martyred, Theopemptus, by being beheaded, & Synesius, formerly Theonas, by being buried alive; their relics were carried from Nicomedia to Italy, and some of their relics were then carried to Germany; 

Pope St. Antherus, Martyr: martyred in the persecution of Emperor Julius Maximinus Thrax, January 3, 236 A.D., at Rome, on the Appian Way, & was buried in the cemetery of Pope St. Callixtus (RM); 

St. Daniel, martyr, at Padua (RM); 

St. Florentius, Bishop, & Martyr, at Vienna, he was sent into exile & there consummated his martyrdom in the time of the emperor Gallienus (RM); 

St. Peter, martyred by crucifixion at Aulane (RM); 

St. Genevieve, Virgin, at Paris, who was consecrated to God by St. Germanus, Bishop of Auxerre, & became famous for her admirable virtues & miracles (RM); 

St. Gordius the Centurion, at Caesarea in Cappadocia, in whose praise is extant a celebrated discourse, delivered by St. Basil the Great on the day of his festival (RM);
