PRIMARY LITURGICAL FEAST OF THE DAY: Feast of the Apparition of Our Lady at Lourdes. 

Our Lady of Liberation, Nossa Senhora do Livramento, Livrant Saibinn, Our Lady of Goa, Nossa Senhora da Goa, Goencem Saibinn, our Gracious Mother, intercede with our Lord God Jesus Christ, for your & our beloved Goa, Rome of the East, overrun by, & trod down under, the jackboots of the Forces of Darkness, & lying prostrated under these visceral Enemies of God & of His beloved Goa, & our larger national homeland, the Concan, deliver us from evil, from our twin benightments, & enslavements, enlarge & liberate us from our spiritual & material captivity, as you had done before, delivering Goa from the Enemies of God & of His beloved Goa, from the Forces of Darkness: Paganism, Idalcao, the Dutch, English, Marathas, Mughals, the bandit Tipoo, son of Hyder, the Bonsales & Ranes, etc. Vindicate, & restore Mother Goa, O beloved Mother of God! We make this prayer through the same Lord God Jesus Christ, thy Son, Who is, in unity with God the Father, & God the Holy Ghost, one God, forever & ever, Amen!

ROMAN MARTYROLOGY: 

At Lourdes, in France, the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Immaculate; from 732 to 778 A.D., Lourdes was occupied by Mahomettan Infidels operating out of Occupied Spain, "Al-Andalus." Mirat or Murat, the local leader, was beseiged by Emperor Charlemagne; during the seige, a passing eagle dropped a huge trout at Mirat's feet. Dismayed by the omen, Mirat was urged to surrender to the Queen of the Sky by the local bishop. He visited the Black Virgin of Puy, & was so astounded by the icon's exceptional beauty that he decided to surrender the fort & convert to Christianity. He was baptised with the name Laurus or Laurentius, the local Vasconian variant of his Christian name was given to the town, now known as Lourdes.

In Africa, during the persecution of Diocletian, the birthday of the holy martyrs Saturninus, a priest, Dativus, Felix, Ampelius, and their companions. They had, as was their custom, assembled for Mass, when they were seized by the soldiers and put to death, under the proconsul Anolinus.

In Numidia, in the same persecution, the commemoration of many holy martyrs, who, refusing after their apprehension to deliver the holy Scriptures, conformably to the imperial edict, were given over to most painful torments and slain.

At Adrianople, the holy martyrs Lucius, bishop, and his companions. Lucius suffered much from the Arians under Constantius, and terminated his martyrdom in prison. The others, who were among the principal citizens, refusing to communicate with the Arians, just then anathematized in the Council of Sardica, were condemned to capital punishment by Count Philagrius.
