At Florence, St. Andrew Corsini, bishop of Fiesoli, whose birthday is the 6th of January. The Whore Church of Roman Protestantism has pretended to have moved his liturgical feast to a moving date around Jan. 6, which cannot be observed without Grave affront to the Divine Majesty, a Mortal Sin. At Rome, St. Eutychius, who endured a glorious martyrdom, and was buried in the cemetery of Callistus. Pope St. Damasus wrote an epitaph in verse for his tomb.

At Fossombrone, the holy martyrs Aquilinus, Geminus, Gelasius, Magnus and Donatus.

At Thmuis, in Egypt, in the persecution of Diocletian, the passion of blessed Philseas, bishop of that city, and of Philoromus, military tribune, who rejected the exhortations of their relations and friends to save themselves, offered themselves to death, and so merited immortal palms from God. With them was crowned with martyrdom a numberless multitude of the faithful of the same place, who followed the example of their pastor.

In the town of Amatrice, in the diocese of Rieti, the decease of St. Joseph of Leonissa, of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins, who suffered many afflictions from the Muslims. As he was celebrated for his apostolic labors and miracles, he was placed on the list of holy confessors by the Sovereign Pontiff Benedict XIV. (Link)

Menology Entry for December 16: (Crowned icon of Our Lady of the Raft). Our Lady of Almadia , Spanish, or  Madonna della Madia , Italian, for " Our Lady  of the Raft:" «Bishop Romuald  began work on a new Cathedral in the city of Monopoli in Apulia in Italy in 1107 A.D., but it was halted for the lack of roof beams. In the early morning of December 16, 1117 A.D., Our Lady thrice appeared to a parishioner Mercurius, at night, instructing him to advise Romuald that the needed wood beams had arrived in the harbor, & each time, Romuald dismissed Mercurius as deluded; a 4th time, Mercurius visited the harbor, & saw a raft floating, & once again rushed to Romuald, insisting that he had now himself seen the wood in the harbor. A Greek Icon of Our Lady was found on the raft.
