Exsurge Domine, et Liberal Nos A Malo! ("Arise Lord, & Deliver us from evil!")

Arise, O Lord! How long will Thou allow that Sin, Evil & Injustice, be exalted, & allow evildoers to thread down, & supplant, Virtue, Goodness & Justice, to pass off evil as good, & good as evil, lies as truth, & truth as lies, thieveries & robberies as lawfulness, & lawfulness as thieveries & robberies? 

«Ecce enim dies veniet succensa quasi caminus: et erunt omnes superbi et omnes facientes impietatem stipula: et inflammabit eos dies veniens, dicit Dominus exercituum, quae non derelinquet eis radicem et germen. Et orietur vobis timentibus nomen meum sol justitiae, et sanitas in pennis ejus: et egrediemini, et salietis sicut vituli de armento. Et calcabitis impios, cum fuerint cinis sub planta pedum vestrorum, in die qua ego facio, dicit Dominus exercituum.»

(«For behold the day shall come kindled as a furnace: & all the proud, & all that do wickedly shall be stubble: & the day that cometh shall set them on fire, saith the Lord of hosts, it shall not leave them root , nor branch. Menology Entry for December 23:

At Rome, the holy virgin Victoria, a martyr, in the persecution of the emperor Decius. She had been promised in marriage to a pagan named Eugene, but because she refused to marry him and to offer sacrifice to idols, and because by working many miracles, she brought many virgins to the service of God, she was, at the request of her betrothed, stabbed in the heart with a sword by the executioner.

At Nicomedia, the birthday of twenty holy martyrs, whom the persecution of Diocletian made martyrs for the faith of Christ, after subjecting them to the most painful torments.

In the same place, the Saints Migdonius and Mardonius; one of whom was burned alive in the same persecution, and the other died in a pit into which he had been thrown. A deacon of St. Anthimus, bishop of Nicomedia, suffered at the same time. He was arrested by the Gentiles when carrying letters to the martyrs, and being overwhelmed with stones, went to our Lord.

In Crete, the holy martyrs Theodulus, Saturninus, Euporus, Gelasius, Eunician, Zeticus, Cleomenes, Agathopus, Gelasius, and Evaristus, who were beheaded, after suffering cruel torments, in the persecution of Decius.

At Rome, blessed Servulus, of whom St. Gregory writes, that a paralytic from his early years to the end of his life, he remained lying in a porch near St. Clement's Church, and being invited by the chant of angels, he went to enjoy the glory of Paradise. At his tomb, frequent miracles are wrought by Almighty God.

And elsewhere in divers places, many other holy martyrs, confessors, and holy virgins.

Menology Entry for December 16: (Crowned icon of Our Lady of the Raft). Our Lady of Almadia , Spanish, or  Madonna della Madia , Italian, for " Our Lady  of the Raft:" «Bishop Romuald  began work on a new Cathedral in the city of Monopoli in Apulia in Italy in 1107 A.D., but it was halted for the lack of roof beams. In the early morning of December 16, 1117 A.D., Our Lady thrice appeared to a parishioner Mercurius, at night, instructing him to advise Romuald that the needed wood beams had arrived in the harbor, & each time, Romuald dismissed Mercurius as deluded; a 4th time, Mercurius visited the harbor, & saw a raft floating, & once again rushed to Romuald, insisting that he had now himself seen the wood in the harbor. A Greek Icon of Our Lady was found on the raft.
